Glaucoma Surgery

Glaucoma surgery selection is individualized and selecting the right procedure will depend on your present pressure control, your pressure target, your disease stage, and your age.  Sometimes Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) is what you need to improve pressure control when the glaucoma is mild.  Alteratively, Traditional Glaucoma Surgery (TGS) may be needed to maximally control the pressure in advanced disease and prevent blindness.  A couple of animated videos here show how glaucoma surgery can augment your existing drainage system or create a new surgical drain to help you control your eye pressure.
